South Korean people highly revere President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il as the eternal sun of the Korean nation, feeling an irresistible yearning after them as the days go by. Their hearts are leaning towards the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun where they lie in state.
“For the Korean nation, President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il were the source of the strength and valor and the whole of hope and future. Their benevolent images and sunny smile are just like the sun. The south Koreans would like to make their way to the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun where they lie in state,” a reunification champion in Seoul told his friends at the end of a gathering.
A photograph fan living in Chuncheon city showed photos of the President and the Chairman which his father had kept to his children and relatives and revealed his true feelings:
“President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il devoted their all to national reunification until their last breath. The world has not known such saints or great persons who worked heart and soul until the last moments of their life. Their exploits will remain forever along with the history of the nation.”
A south Korean floriculturist told his co-workers that the south Koreans’ profound reverence for the President and the Chairman are inclining to visit the sacred temple of the sun. He continued; the world has seen many prominent men, however, there are no great men such as President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il. If the country is reunified, I would make a flower basket with the most beautiful and fragrant flowers with my family and visit the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun to pay tribute to them.
A young men’s association sponsored a meeting to mark the Day of the Sun (April 15).
The head of young men’s association said in his opening speech:
“I am ardently yearning for President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Ilwho made painstaking efforts for national reunification and the south Korean people.
It is regrettable that we cannot visit the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun where they lie in state to pay homage to them.”
A resident in Seoul told his family that he was gripped by great emotion when he saw the north Korean people and foreigners made their way to the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun where the President and the Chairman are preserved in lifetime appearance to pay homage to them in humble reverence through TV
“President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il are alive in the hearts of the nation and humanity. When the country is reunified the south Koreans would visit the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun. The day is not far away.”
The feelings of the south Koreans, who are enshrining the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun in their minds and looking back upon the great exploits of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, are ardent.
