Departure for Singapore

Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and Supreme Commander of the Korean People’s Army, left Pyongyang in the morning on June 10 aboard a chartered Chinese plane to pay a visit to Singapore where the DPRK-US summit would take place.
He is scheduled to hold his first meeting and talks with US President Donald J. Trump in Singapore in the morning on June 12.


He is accompanied by Kim Yong Chol and Ri Su Yong, members of the Political Bureau and vice-chairmen of the WPK Central Committee; Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho who is also member of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee; No Kwang Chol, alternate member of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee and minister of the People’s Armed Forces; Kim Yo Jong, alternate member of the Political Bureau and first deputy department director of the WPK Central Committee; Choe Son Hui, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs; and members of the WPK Central Committee and the DPRK SAC.
A ceremony was held at Pyongyang International Airport to bid farewell to him.
Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un who has set off on his landmark foreign tour was seen off by members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee Kim Yong Nam, Choe Ryong Hae and Pak Pong Ju and members of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee Yang Hyong Sop, Ri Myong Su, Kim Su Gil, Ri Yong Gil, Pak Kwang Ho, Kim Phyong Hae, An Jong Su, Pak Thae Song, Choe Pu Il, Ro Tu Chol, Choe Hwi and Pak Thae Dok.


He shook hands with the senior Party and government officials before getting on board.
The senior Party and government officials wholeheartedly wished the Supreme Leader a great success in the DPRK-US summit and safe journey home.
The first-ever DPRK-US summit which has caught the unusual attention of the world will provide a platform for both sides to share broad and in-depth views on resetting bilateral relations in line with the changed requirements of the times and establishing a mechanism to ensure lasting and durable peace on the Korean peninsula, as well as a range of issues of common concern including the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.
