September 8 this year marks 72 years since the U.S. military occupation of south Korea.
The U.S., which occupied south Korea illegally, declared the military rule to disband the people’s committees and suppress the south Koreans who were desirous of democracy and reunification. It cooked up the pro-U.S. regime headed by its minions and established the colonial ruling system in every dimension of political, military, economic and culture fields.
Describing the south Koreans as an “inferior”, it has perpetrated murder, plunder, rape, violence and all other crimes.
It has built military bases across south Korea and conducted frenzied war games, while putting a brake on the process of Korea’s reunification.
Civic organizations held a rally in Seoul on Sept. 8 in front of the U.S. embassy on the lapse of 72 years since the U.S. military occupation of south Korea and in demand of removal of THAAD, pullout of the U.S. forces and conclusion of peace accord.
They said that the Korean nation cannot exist with the U.S. under the same sky, adding all the evils and pains derive from the U.S. occupation of south Korea.
They appealed to the people to withdraw the U.S. from south Korea to achieve peaceful reunification and prosperity and build an independent and peaceful country by pooling efforts of the nation.
Members of civic bodies held a news conference in front of the U.S. Naval Command in Busan at which they demanded a stop to arms business, war provocation and the pullout of the U.S. forces from south Korea.
They ardently called upon the people who value peace and reunification to turn out in the action to put a definite end to hateful division, subordination, and constant danger of war.
It is possible to preserve peace and realize independent reunification only when the U.S. troops, the root cause of inviting nuclear war disaster in the Korean Peninsula and imposing disgrace and pain upon the south Koreans, are withdrawn at an early date.
