A joint friendship gathering took place at the Amusement Park of Kaeson Youth Park on June 1, the 68th anniversary of the International Children’s Day.
It was attended by Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK; Choe Hwi, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea; Jon Kwang Ho, vice-premier of the Cabinet; Kim Sung Du, chairman of the Education Commission; Kim Chol Hun, vice-chairman of Pyongyang Municipal People’s Committee; and officials concerned, kindergarteners, kindergarten teachers and women in Pyongyang.
Also present there were resident members of foreign embassies and missions of international bodies, foreign children and women and other foreign guests and overseas compatriots.
Jang Chun Sil, chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Women’s Union of Korea, delivered an address at the gathering.
Children danced to the tune of the song “Flower Buds Holiday” and did a rhythmic exercise for kindergarteners.
Then they enjoyed sports and amusement games.
After the games they had a pleasant time, dancing and enjoying amusement facilities.
Meanwhile, celebration events took place in each province, city and county across the country to mark the International Children’s Day.
