Kim Jong Un and New Terms

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un performed world-startling immortal exploits in the whole course of leading the revolution and construction through his tireless, energetic leadership and created new terms that will go down along with the era.

Such terms as the “Eternal General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea,” “Kumsusan Palace of the Sun,” “Day of the Shining Star,” “Party of Comrades Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il,” “Modelling the whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism,” “View of Comrades Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il on the people” represent the ennobling personality of Kim Jong Un who adds eternal lustre to the revolutionary careers and immortal exploits of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, the preceding leaders, holding them in the highest esteem, and steadfastly carries forward their ideology, leadership and noble traits.

Kim Jong Un always trusts and loves young people most and leads them to perform their mission and duty as the point-men in the general onward march who make breakthroughs in the vanguard of the struggle to build a socialist power. The terms “youth power,” “legendary tale of heroic youth” and “blessing of having excellent young people” reflect his idea of prioritizing young people.

In April Juche 104 (2015) he inspected the construction site of the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station, clearing the long and rugged path. Expressing great satisfaction over the fact that young builders were stepping up the project even in the difficult situation and adverse conditions, he said in the following vein: I was greatly encouraged at the sight of the ideological and mental state of young builders faithfully supporting the Party and always advancing straight forward following it. I felt as if I had won the world. Their patriotism displayed at the construction site clearly proves that our country is the one and only youth power in the world. “Youth power” is a new term coined by our Party.

In September he visited again the station and spoke highly of the builders who carried out in a short period of 120 days the project whose amount was equal to what they had done in the past ten years and thus created a miracle beyond human imagination. Noting that the young people are very admirable, he stressed that the world-startling legendary tale of heroic youth could be created only by the Korean young people.

In his historic October 2015 speech delivered at the inaugural ceremony of the power station, he highly appreciated the trustworthy young people. He said: The problem of young people is currently the most difficult one in the disputed areas of the world, but our young people serve our Party as its spiritual buttress, as its solid cornerstone. Sure enough, our Party is blessed with such fine young people.

“The spirit of making selfless, devoted efforts” and “Everything for the people and everything by relying on them!” are based on Kim Jong Un’s noble view on the people, who devotes himself for their well-being.

He delivered a historic speech “Making Selfless, Devoted Efforts for the Good of the People Is the Mode of Existence and Source of Invincible Might of the Workers’ Party of Korea” at the military parade and public procession of Pyongyang citizens held in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the WPK on October 10, Juche 104 (2015). He said: As the great WPK that believes in the people as in heaven, the people who are one and the same with the name of our sacred revolution and its 70 years of victory, is the locomotive leading the revolution and holds the switch weight of history, the avenue of the cause of the Juche revolution will always be adorned with victory and glory. And he appealed to all Party members to make selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the great people.

In his speech delivered at the Fourth Conference of Cell Secretaries of the Workers’ Party of Korea held in January Juche 102 (2013), he said it is the firm determination of the Party to respect the people and devote everything to them and called on officials to work devotedly for them, holding aloft the slogan “Everything for the people and everything by relying on them!”

He continues his on-site guidance trips day and night with unshakeable will to build a socialist power on this land without fail in reliance on the efforts, technology and resources of the country. He assigned the Kim Jong Thae Electric Locomotive Complex to a task of manufacturing a Korean-style subway train with its own efforts and energetically led the work to this end. In November Juche 104 (2015), he oversaw its trial run.

Shuttling between several stations aboard the subway train, he highly praised its manufacturers as they have made it by their own efforts and technologies, adding that the heroic Kim Il Sung’s and Kim Jong Il’s working class clearly proved in practice that nothing is impossible to a willing heart. Noting that, in order to attain the high goal of building a socialist power, we should have the capacity for self-development and that the source of self-development is affection, trust, dignity and pride in everything of our own, he stressed that our own things and self-development are the best.

The new terms “the heroic Kim Il Sung’s and Kim Jong Il’s working class” and “self-development-first principle” have thus come into being.

In reflection of the new era for national prosperity in which yesterday’s appearance changed today and everything changes by morning and by evening, “Chollima era and Mallima era in which everything changes by morning and by evening” and “One year, not ten years, is enough to change mountains and rivers” have been coined.

Kim Jong Un named the form of struggle with which the Korean people and service personnel, united with a single heart, launch a determined offensive in close cooperation with each in order to make the greatest achievements in socialist construction as the “army-people joint operations”; the scenery of rich haul of fish unfolded in the East Sea of Korea as the “spectacular scenery of big fish catch”; the sea with a huge haul of fish as the “sea of gold” likening it to a fertile field with golden ears of grain; the rich crop of fruits in Kosan County at the foot of Chol Pass as the “sea of apple trees at the foot of Chol Pass”; and the merry laughter of people at modern bases for cultural and leisure activities as the “whirlwind of roller-skating, skiing and horse-riding”.

In addition, there are a lot of new terms representative of the era: “Core of modernization”—the fundamental that should be adhered to in raising the proportion of locally-produced equipment and materials in the renovation of industrial establishments, “Farm city”, “Strong wind of producing vegetables in greenhouses”, “Drive to make all people well-versed in science and technology”, “Forest restoration campaign, a war to improve nature”, “Principle of prioritizing convenience and aesthetic beauty”, “Blessed with comrades-in-arms and comrades”, and “Even an egg, charged with ideology, can break a rock”.

Such new terms pulsating with the sentiments of the times showcase the devoted efforts and immortal revolutionary leadership of Kim Jong Un who continues his on-site guidance trips ceaselessly in order to bring all benefits of socialism to the people. They also represent his personality as a great man who has a rich stock of knowledge of all fields, including politics, military affairs, the economy, literature and the arts, science and technology, history and architecture.
