Pyongyang Citizens Rally to Support Decisions of WPK Plenary Meeting

Pyongyang citizens held a rally at May Day Stadium on January 5 to pledge to carry out the decisions of the 6th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

The rally was attended by officials and working people of institutions, industrial establishments, farms and the Sangwon Cement Complex and youth and students in the capital city of Pyongyang.

The platform was taken by Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee, vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and premier of the Cabinet, and Ri Il Hwan, Jon Hyon Chol, Ri Chol Man, Yang Sung Ho and Pak Hun, senior officials of the Party and the government, and officials and labour innovators in the city.

Kim Su Gil, alternate member of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee and chief secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the WPK, delivered a report.

The reporter said that the major economic construction goals for this year, which marks the 75th founding anniversary of the DPRK and the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War, are the tasks to be tackled without fail and decisively by further enhancing the fighting spirit displayed in 2022 to overcome all sorts of difficulties and trials and steadily advance the socialist country.

He called upon all officials, Party members and other working people to cherish the honour of living and working in the heart of the Juche revolution and in the capital city of the great Kim Jong Un’s Korea and vigorously struggle to make the revolution advance and achieve fresh successes and demonstrate more fully the heroic stamina and might of socialist Korea dignified with Juche, rallied closely behind the Party Central Committee.

Speeches were made.

The speakers expressed their firm will to carry out the Party’s decisions for the prosperity and development of their great state and the wellbeing of its people by displaying matchless patriotism and loyalty, indomitable fighting spirit and heroic creative mettle and surely attain the important economic construction goals set forth by the Party Central Committee.

The rally was followed by a public procession.

The participants in the rally enjoyed a grand performance in celebration of the New Year.
